Always play and stick to the general optimal Yahtzee strategy. Continuously monitor the progress of your opponent’s scoreboards. If your score is close or ahead of your opponent, stick to the basic strategy.

When the opponent lands on some lucky shots, you will then have to deviate and go for bigger rolls as well. Try to calculate to check your opponent’s chances at scoring the upper section bonus, so that you do not overcompensate for the lack of score.

For example, if your opponent rolls a Yahtzee, you may have to modify your strategy and aim for Yahtzee yourself as well.
