Picking Your Zeroes in End Game

When you are down to the last 4 moves in end game. It is important to “pick” the zeroes that you want to fill the box with. In general, you want to fill out zeroes for the least expected values before the rest. This means that if by move 10 you do not have a Yahtzee yet, you should zero those out first, then 4 of a kind, then full house, and lastly the large straight.

Lower Section Expected Score for the last unfilled box
Chance: 23.3
Small Straight: 18.5
3 of a Kind: 15.2
Large Straight: 10.6
Full House: 9.2
4 of a kind: 5.6
Yahtzee: 2.3

Upper Section Expected Score for the last unfilled box
Aces: 2.1
Twos: 4.2
Threes: 6.3
Fours: 8.4
Fives: 10.5
Sixes: 12.6

You generally should not have left lower values for the Upper section since you do need the upper section score bonus in Yahtzee.
